Our History

It all started in 1931. A young man named Samuel K. Wengert founded Wengert’s Dairy in the rolling hills of Lebanon, Pa. Samuel was committed to producing the finest milk you could pour in a glass. Years later, the name would change to Swiss PremiumTM, but that original commitment to quality remained.
An award-winning dairy, Swiss Premium won its first prize for pasteurized milk at the Pennsylvania State Farm Show and, throughout years of this competition, would win many more prizes for quality among Pennsylvania dairies. No wonder so many families in central Pennsylvania have watched their children grow up drinking Swiss Premium milk, from sippy cups to straight from the gallon.
Today, Swiss Premium Dairy is owned 100% by a dairy cooperative that includes family farms right in your community, farmers who care as much about nourishing your family as they do their own. And after 90 years, you can still taste their passion in every single glass.
